Forward newsletters to KTool automatically
Every newsletter that reaches your personal KTool inbox is sent to your Kindle. There are two ways to get them there without forwarding each issue by hand.
Your inbox address ends in @inbox.ktool.io. Copy it from Newsletters.
The simplest way: subscribe with your KTool address
Subscribe to the newsletter with your KTool inbox address, or change the email address on a subscription you already have. Issues then go straight to KTool and nothing needs to be forwarded.
Use forwarding when you also want the newsletter in your normal inbox, or when the newsletter does not let you change your address.
Gmail
Gmail asks you to confirm the address once, then forwards with a filter.
- In Gmail, open Settings, then See all settings, then Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
- Select Add a forwarding address, paste your KTool inbox address, and confirm.
- Gmail emails a confirmation code to that address. KTool sends the code to your Kindle within a few minutes. Enter it in Gmail and select Verify.
- Leave Disable forwarding selected. You only want to forward newsletters, not all your mail.
- In the search box, open the search options, put the newsletter's address in From, and select Create filter.
- Tick Forward it to, choose your KTool inbox address, and select Create filter.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each newsletter. A filter only forwards new messages.
Outlook.com
- Open Settings, then Mail, then Rules.
- Select Add new rule and give it a name.
- Under Add a condition, choose From and enter the newsletter's address.
- Under Add an action, choose Forward to and enter your KTool inbox address.
- Save the rule.
Work and school accounts may have forwarding to outside addresses switched off by their administrator.
Fastmail
- Open Settings, then Filters & Rules. Some accounts show this as Mail rules.
- Create a new rule. For the condition, choose From and enter the newsletter's address.
- For the action, choose Send a copy to and enter your KTool inbox address.
- Save the rule.
You can also open an issue of the newsletter, choose Add rule from message, and add the same action.
iCloud Mail
Rules are set up on the web, not in the Mail app.
- Go to icloud.com/mail and sign in.
- Select the settings button above the mailbox list, choose Settings, then Rules.
- Add a rule. Under Message, choose is from and enter the newsletter's address.
- Under Then, choose Forward to and enter your KTool inbox address.
- Save the rule.
Proton Mail
Forwarding needs a paid Proton Mail plan.
- Open Settings, then All settings, then Forward and auto-reply.
- Add a forwarding rule to your KTool inbox address, with a condition on the sender so only that newsletter is forwarded.
- Proton emails a request to your KTool inbox, which has to be accepted through a link. Open the request under Newsletters and use the link in the original email.
Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail can only forward all of your mail, and only on Yahoo Mail Plus. It cannot forward one sender. Subscribe with your KTool address instead, or forward issues by hand.
Other providers
Look for Rules or Filters in your mail settings. Create a rule that matches the newsletter's sender address and forwards, redirects, or sends a copy to your KTool inbox address.
Check that it works
Forward one issue by hand first. It should appear in Newsletters and arrive on your Kindle or in your magazine, depending on your Newsletter settings.
- Forward only newsletters. Receipts, sign-in codes and personal email do not belong on a Kindle.
- Keep your KTool inbox address private, so nobody else can send content to your Kindle.
- If nothing arrives, check the address for a typo and look at troubleshooting.
